The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and Kapchorwa District Local Government (KDLG) have jointly commissioned the 2.6km Towei-Kaptokolo murram road in Kapsinda sub-county, leading to Sipi Falls 3.
This strategic infrastructure development aims to enhance tourism in the district by providing easier access to the breathtaking Sipi Falls 3, known for its stunning scenery and coffee plantations.
During the commissioning ceremony, attended by UTB officials, KDLG leaders, and technical experts, UTB acting Simon Kaita highlighted the critical role of infrastructure development in tourism promotion.
He stated that the new road marks a significant milestone in improving Kapchorwa’s tourism infrastructure, anticipating increased tourist arrivals and benefits for the local community.

Kapchorwa deputy Resident District Commissioner (DRDC) Martin Sakajja expressed gratitude to UTB and KDLG for their collaborative efforts in developing tourism infrastructure.
He emphasized that the improved road will not only boost tourism but also stimulate economic growth in the district. Sakajja pledged the district’s continued support for initiatives that foster economic development and enhance the well-being of residents.
Kapchorwa district chairperson, Everlyn Kubarika Chebet, thanked the organizers for a launch she believes will benefit locals through tourism. She urged residents to use the new road to transport agricultural goods to the market increasing household income.
