Hon. Kisos Chemaswet has officially signed the censure motion against the four commissioners of parliament, bringing the total number of signatures to 176. This development follows the recent endorsement of the motion by four Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Sebei sub-region who are Hon. Chemutai Evelyn (Bukwo DWR), Hon. Chelangat Alinga Solomon (T’oo County), Hon. Twalla Fadil (Tingey County), and Hon. Chemutai Phyllis (Kapchorwa DWR).

The censure motion, which has gained significant traction over the past weeks, aims to address allegations of misconduct and abuse of office by the commissioners. The motion requires a minimum of 177 signatures to be tabled for debate and potential action falling short by one Hon. Chemaswet’s endorsement.

Speaking to this Publication, Hon. Chemaswet expressed his frustration that commissioners were going to serve more than three (3) years yet committee leaders we’re being changed stating that double standards we’re being played by parliamentary leadersip.

The Four Sebei MPs who have gone mute on the censure motion are Hon Sam Cheptoris (Kapchorwa Municipality),Hon. William Chemonges (Kween County),Hon. Emma Rose Cherukut (Kween DWR) and Hon Reuben Paul (Kongasis County)

The four Sebei MPs, who recently signed the motion, have echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the importance of transparency and responsibility among public officials. Their support has been instrumental in reaching the critical number of signatures required for the motion to proceed.

This censure motion reflects a growing call for reform and accountability within Uganda’s legislative framework. As the situation unfolds, all eyes will be on the parliamentary proceedings and the actions taken by the leadership to address the concerns raised by the motion’s proponents.
