Kapchorwa District has officially welcomed Mr. Nkugwa Kizito as the new Resident District Commissioner (RDC) during a smooth and cordial handover ceremony held earlier today. The event marked a new chapter in the district’s leadership with Mr. Kizito taking over from Mr. Martin Sakajja the immediate former Acting RDC, who now assumes the role of Deputy RDC.

The ceremony held at the RDC’s office was attended by several key district stakeholders including Mr. Chesang David, Principal Assistant Secretary and CAO, the Deputy Town Clerk of Kapchorwa Municipality, a representative from Uganda Prisons, Mr. Okane Richard, the DISO, Assistant RDCs Yasin Kuka and Seiko Muhammed Abubakar, and support staff from the RDC’s office.
Upon assuming office,Mr. Nkugwa Kizito expressed his gratitude to H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the trust placed in him. He pledged to carry out his duties with diligence and integrity, emphasizing teamwork as a core pillar in driving government programs and improving service delivery in the district.

In his handover remarks, Mr. Martin Sakajja outlined key achievements during his tenure including the renovation of the RDC’s office and the successful coordination of the NRM party primary elections. He also highlighted ongoing challenges and potential opportunities for further progress.
Mr. Nkugwa Kizito brings to the role a wealth of experience, having previously served as the LCV Chairperson for Kiboga District.
