Excitement griped students and teachers at Kapchorwa Senior Secondary School in Kapchorwa Municipality as the School received its brand new purchased school bus on Sunday. The 40-seater bus registration number UBR006B has been purchased at a tune of Ugx 230million according to the school head teacher Johnson Kitikoy Yesho.
The head teacher commended the tireless efforts and contribution of the students, parents, board of governors, and well wishers for this great achievement. He appreciated the role played by different stakeholders especially parents who since mid 2023 agreed to contribute UGX 20,000 per term to support this noble cause.
So far, Ugx 115M has been paid and the other half will be paid as a loan to ABSA bank in a timeframe of 3 terms with UGX 40M per installment. On management, Mr. Kitikoy said that the bus has a one year warranty from TATA AIG motor insurance and a tracker that will always help them ensure timely service and maintenance.
He is optimistic that the bus will add efforts toward improving education and also contribute income to the school through offering transportation services on hire.
