Kapchorwa,Uganda: NRM leaders from the Sebei sub-region have significantly endorsed Mr.David Calvin Echodu for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern Uganda citing his proven track record, energetic leadership, and commitment to grassroots empowerment.

The endorsement took place during a highly attended strategic meeting in Kapchorwa Municipality, where senior party officials,cultural leaders and community representatives declared unwavering support for Echodu. The leaders described him as the right man to energize the party and complement President Museveni’s mission to transform the Eastern region.
Addressing the gathering, David Calvin Echodu promised to work closely with the people of Sebei and their leaders to champion compensation for families that lost cattle and property during the insurgency. He also emphasized his agenda of infrastructure development,economic empowerment and reviving trust between leaders and the people.
“We cannot build a strong nation without strong communities. If the NRM is solid at the grassroots then President Museveni is strong everywhere,” said Echodu. “That is why we must empower and invest in local party structures to truly deliver the NRM manifesto.”
Ambassador Nelson Ocheger the former High Commissioner of Uganda to the Federal Republic of Nigeria praised Echodu’s unwavering loyalty and achievements in strengthening the NRM’s presence across Eastern Uganda. His ability to bridge gaps between party leadership and the ordinary citizen was a recurring theme.

Mr. Ngirio Samuel, spokesperson of the Sabiny Cultural Institution applauded Echodu for being a leader who “speaks the hearts of the Sebei people.” He acknowledged Echodu’s sensitivity to the region’s historical pain and his commitment to pushing for long-awaited justice and development.

On his part, Mr. Chesol Tom Komu decried a history of empty promises by some political figures urging the people to rally behind leaders who stand for truth, honesty, and delivery.
“The Sabiny are an honest people. We deserve leaders who do not lie to us but walk the talk. David Calvin Echodu is such a leader,” Komu stated.

The endorsement marks a turning point for the NRM in Eastern Uganda, positioning Echodu as a unifier and driver of real progress With strong backing from Sebei and beyond,his candidacy signals a renewed vision for inclusive leadership,grassroots empowerment and regional transformation.
